Cellars and grid
You can have more than one cellar — meaning physical spaces: an actual cellar, a wine fridge, a simple rack. Beviamolo keeps track of each one separately and helps you remember exactly where you put every bottle.
Creating a cellar
In the “Cellars” section, tap the ”+” at the top. Give the cellar a name (required), optionally note where it’s located, and set its size in rows and columns: these are the “shelves” and “positions” of your grid. You can always change the rows and columns later.
The grid and coordinates
Each cellar is shown as a grid: columns are labeled with letters (A, B, C…) and rows with numbers (1, 2, 3…). Each square — called a slot — therefore has a precise coordinate, for example A1, that identifies a single position. Occupied slots are colored according to the wine’s type (red, white, sparkling, rosé…) so you can spot what’s where at a glance.
Placing a bottle in the grid
You can assign a position in two ways:
- When you add a bottle, choose “Select position” and tap the empty slot you prefer.
- From the grid, tap an empty slot directly: this opens the list of bottles in your cellar that don’t have a position yet, and you choose which one to put there.
Tapping an already occupied slot instead opens the page for the bottle it holds.
Moving a bottle that’s already placed
To move a bottle you’ve already put in a slot, press and hold its square in the grid until it “lifts”, then drag it onto the empty slot where you want it and let go: the position updates right away. Alternatively, tap the slot to open its detail card and choose “Move”: the app then asks you to tap the empty destination slot, with a “Cancel” button if you change your mind.
Managing several cellars
On the “Cellars” screen, each cellar is summarized with its name, location and how full it is (for example “12/24 · 50% full”). Tapping it expands it to show the full grid; you can also open it full-screen to work in it more comfortably.
Editing or deleting a cellar
The edit icon next to each cellar lets you rename it, or change its location or size. Note: you can’t shrink a row or column if it still has bottles positioned in it — move them elsewhere first. Deleting a cellar is irreversible and also deletes every bottle it contained: the app always asks you to confirm explicitly before proceeding.
If you only want to free up the cellar without losing anything, use “Empty cellar” instead: every bottle it contains goes back to your list without a position (you’ll recognise them by the “N/D” coordinate) and you can place them again wherever you like, even in another cellar. It’s the right choice for a move or a reorganisation: no bottle is deleted. The app asks for confirmation here too, and an internet connection is required.
Giving your cellar a custom shape
If your physical cellar isn’t a perfect rectangle — a corner taken up by a pillar, a shorter shelf, an irregular nook — you can exclude the cells that don’t really exist. From a cellar’s edit icon, tap “Edit shape”: a dedicated grid opens where tapping an empty cell excludes it (it stays “empty forever”, never assignable, but keeps its coordinate), and tapping it again brings it back. Occupied cells can’t be excluded: move the bottle out first. All changes are saved together by tapping “Save”.
